What personal data we collect

According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

  • Users can visit our site anonymously.
  • Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it in the footer of every page of this microsite.
  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can easily be found on the page specified above.

Any Privacy Policy changes that occur will take place on the Privacy Policy page and the date at the bottom will be updated with the date of the day the change was made.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. We do not specifically market to children under the age of 18 years old.

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

To be in accordance with CAN-SPAM, we agree to the following:

  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters. Lebo Pride is a grassroots initiative and does not have a physical location.

  • Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, you can follow the instructions at the bottom of each email or update your email preferences on your account page and we will promptly remove you from ALL correspondence that would be sent automatically from this website.

Unsubscribing does not prevent other users from sending you emails from their email account.

Zoom

We utilize Zoom, a third-party online video conferencing platform, for conducting virtual meetings. By registering for a Zoom event directly on our website, relevant data will be sent to Zoom for registration purposes. Any meeting that is recorded for public use may use your audio and/or video upon consent at the start of the recording. You may revoke consent at any time by disabling your audio and/or video during the event.

All meetings hosted by us will enable Zoom’s default automatic live transcriptions at the start.

Online Donations

We utilize third-party platforms to collect monetary donations directly on our website. Our website does not process money or transactions
