Affirmation is a vital part of the LGBTQ+ experience—it is a declaration that we are here and that we are deserving of the same rights, liberties, and happiness as anyone else in this world.
In this spirit, we’re asking attendees of the Lebo Pride Celebration 2023 to write affirmations on feathers—for themselves, loved ones, or even strangers who they may never meet. The feathers will be used by local muralist Ashley Hodder to create a live art installation to transform all the individual feathers into magnificent wings.
Add your words to the wings, and help give those who struggle with their identities the assurance that people out there love them—and are working to lift them out of that darkness.
